How to Train Your Dragon
The movie How to Train Your Dragon is coming out in 3-D soon.  How To Train Your Dragon was a movie that was in total failure until Chris Sanders and Dean DeBlois took the ropes to make it what will hopefully be a great movie.

According to the article I read, this movie should be a great hit.  The story in itself is a great one that should not have a problem selling itself.  It is about a young Viking being trained to hate dragons and he simply can’t after he befriends an injured one.  The story seems to be one to match the hype that it is getting and hopefully will be a Disney masterpiece like so many others.
The duo teamed up to make Mulan and Lilo and Stitch.  These two movies were huge successes and did so well in the movie theaters as well as in sales after the hit the market.  Hopefully this movie will be a success too.
The only big problem it faces is it follows closely in the footsteps of the movie AvatarAvatar was such a hit in the theaters that it drowned out other movies, such as A Christmas CarolA Christmas Carol came out around the same time as Avatar and was a 3-D movie just like Avatar but A Christmas Carol failed horribly due to the fact that Avatar was out.  I hope that How to Train Your Dragon does not fail to meet people expectations set up by the movie Avatar.

Even though I am so over all these 3-D movies being made I think that this one will actually do well with children. Yes, A Christmas Carol did poorly because it came out around the time of Avatar and maybe because it’s been done so many times. Not to mention it has actually been done very well before. However, I think How to Train Your Dragon will do well because it is coming out awhile after Avatar and it is something kids can look forward to going and seeing in the theaters.

I think the movie will do fine. Actually, I know it will do fine. A Christmas Carol made $135 million. The only other movie this has to compete with this week is Alice in Wonderland. However, that movie has been dwindling down in numbers each week. How To Train Your Dragon should open in numbers higher than Alice. Overall, the movie is bound to make at least $150 million or more, which in my opinion, is a great success. It should be a pretty good movie. The reviews are really positive so far.

I was recently at the movie theater to see an IMAX 3D movie, and i was lucky enough to catch a trailer for How to Train Your Dragon. It really looks like it will be a great movie, and one of the better adaptations of the new technologies. Too often IMAX and 3D used as gimmicks that really do not add anything of value to a film. In fact, if the 3D is done incorrectly, it will greatly diminish the quality of both the cinematography and story. However, i don’t think this movie will have a problem.

How to Train Your Dragon was pretty adorable. I was surprised I enjoyed it because I usually can’t stand Dreamworks’s animation and storylines. I didn’t see it in 3D. 3D is beginning to be a bit much for me. Everything seems to need to be 3D. I feel like it is done to mask how bad the film actually is or attract people because “zomg it’s in 3D.” Most films don’t need that element.
